Authentic Man Program – Power of Appreciation Review

This is my long overdue review of Authentic Man Program's Power of Appreciation (AMP's POA). I think the reason it was so overdue is because it was so awesome, I rushed into trying this stuff and had great success and posted a few field reports, then I just sort of coasted, enjoyed what I learned, and moved on.

After going through POA, I had a string of one night stands and now I am in a relationship (which I need to write a post on soon). Surrendered My Nervousness + Opened my Heart = Best Date Ever is a date I had right after the POA program.

3 Ways to Filter out Bad Advice

Recently I posted an article on not giving up your power to guru's. SDH followed up with some steps on how regular friends, even AFC's, can help each other attain their goals. In my post, lots of guys commented that getting advice from regular friends is a bad idea and, from their perspective, I completely agree. It's obvious. It is almost the same analogy as the Guru, taking full advice from one source is almost always a bad idea—except Guru's at least tend to know what they are talking about. The trick is to develop a filter for good advice. It comes down to knowing yourself.

Giving Up Power to Gurus

Something rather ironic occurred to me recently. After the Ideagasms fiasco, after seeing more and more guru's as fakes—like what "The Game" did with TylerDurden. I started to objectively think and observe how Guru's really are. I started to notice the some of the more successful Pick Up Guru's are guys with amazing flash game—they can do a 15-minute song and dance, or "wing" you very well, but they talk very little about true seduction.

I know this may come as a surprise, only 10 months ago I was all up on their philosophies, but as time went on, I feel they started slipping more and more into a real cult. Now, they really fell. Read little article on cults to get an idea…

The 2 Approaches to Learning

Right now, I am reading this amazing and inspirational book called "The Art of Learning" by Josh Waitzkin. Now, if that name sounds familiar to you, it may because the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer" was based on him. He is the little 8 year old who won national chess championships. What most people do not know is that Josh is also a World Champion Martial Artist of Tai Chi. How often is a person a Champion Chess Player and also a Champion at Tai Chi, all before they are 25 or so?

A Crucial Ingredient, Often Overlooked

The crucial ingredient is the right group of friends to help us along. I am writing this post as a part shout-out, part vital lesson of life. More often than not, the only people who can give you accurate and useful advice are your close friends and family, or someone who has known you for awhile and has a lot of experience. But, most importantly, no great speaker, guru, or figurehead can just look at you for 2 days, much less 5 minutes, and give you the kind of advice, the kind of direction catered to just you in your life.

The Self-Help Community

The self-help community has been around since our mom's nagged us to wash our face and brush our teeth every night. Or, maybe it started with religion and rituals. There is something about being given advice or being told what to do that can equally annoy us and empower us. It all depends on how we are told what to do. My guess is, our Mom's caring-worry wasn't the most effective, but perhaps Tony Robbin's passionate tale about bodily acid motivated us to take action; ironically, one idea is obvious, the other is totally out of left field.

Just Updated the Blog Host

I just wanted to make a quick update. I upgraded the blog host from Hostmonster to SimpleHelix. I felt it was going way to slow over at Hostmonster and SimpleHelix seems a lot faster.

I would describe Hostmonster as an all you can eat buffet (as SDH puts it). You get everything there, but the quality isn't the greatest. SimpleHelix is more like a 3 or 4 star restaurant---its not a dedicated server, but its rated real high and costs a bit more.

Hopefully this works out better!

In the mean time, a comment and post made by SPG got delayed in transferring over, but everything is back to normal. This was actually quite a process to go through so I thought I'd just mention it.

LATE.

I would consider myself a student of Dr. Paul for the past two years however I had an interesting ride.
Spiritual vs Structured Inner Game

For the last four years, starting with David DeAngelo, I have been studying personal development. About half that time it was structured, Western style. The other half it was very focused on more spiritual or Eastern styles. Here, I'd like to express my thoughts on each one, how they are similar (and in some ways the exact same) and what works best for me personally.
Dave Riker's Language & Conversation Course

Okay here it is guys. I am laying down the soil and very excited to see the life which will grow.

Being in the dating community for over four years, I have seen many products. One trait I found in almost all the products is a hallow sense of information. That is, an entire eBook will contain one main theme and a bunch of shallow examples. I'd rather not slander those names, but recently I have come across a product which is overflowing with information.
Just Go For It

In a post made almost 8 months ago titled "Just Speak My Truth" I met a girl in the gym and we had a fairly instant connection. While talking to her, I just spoke my truth, even though I felt the mental barriers, and usual nervousness. The truth I told her was really my standards in life, my preferences: respect, honesty. But the way I said it was very direct and that was the main thing.

I am re-reading "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. I must say, I missed so much of this the first time around. Now, after being immersed in multiple flavors of spirituality, from "Conversations with God", "Autobiography of a Yogi", to even "The Fountainhead" I came back to Power of Now with greater focus.
The Inner Game of Sports

The fastest way to see if you are aligned with yourself is in sports. The proof is always in the pudding. Of all places, I really noticed this today when I bowled for the first time in months. Bowling has always been a fun sport to me and movies like The Big Lebowski and King's Pin put some comedy to it whenever I'd find myself playing with friends.

Usually when I bowled, I treated the sport as some academic feat. If I apply the right force in the right direction, I will execute correctly. Now, this line of thinking is perfect for a target locking Air Force missile, calculating every minute, discrete step it has to take. But for a human, at least for me, this path was never too smooth.

I Believe - An Affirmation Booster

Stemming from my recent post Thoughts vs. Beliefs, I wanted to add one more piece. The addition of the phrase "I believe" before every
affirmation.

The reason behind this is because thought, alone, is really just motion or electricity going on in your brain. Yes, they are powerful, but I feel the true magic to humanity, the true mystery lay in beliefs. Beliefs are thoughts with emotions, or strong energy, attached to it.

Here is an example of my affirmations:

My Vision for BigSend World

All right! Its finally here

I put like 72 straight hours of work into getting this to run and here is my tale and my vision. (this is also my first blog post written on here).

About 3 weeks ago I ran into some problems with blogger. I backed up the theme and decided to change things around, but some mistakes were made and it kind of messed up. So I went ahead and loaded the back-up I just made, but the backup contained none of my custom information. It was just a back up of the general theme! So I lost everything. However, I was able to recover just about everything on Google Cache. Wheeeew!

Thoughts vs. Beliefs — a Huge Key.

Last Friday I hung out with my new friend Ricky (that I met in my Men's Group Circle*) along with a few others. Like usual, we talked about Law of Attraction and how to manifest things into our lives. Without Ricky realizing the significance it had on me, he mentioned that affirmations are not about thoughts, but about beliefs.

Okay, so that seems obvious. Or, if not obvious it seems like some "whatever" point, but for me it was huge. I feel I definitely lost track of my thoughts and affirmations these last few weeks. They started to feel like a chore I had to say to myself once or twice a day, and after I said them I'd go on my merry way.

What I Have Been Up To Lately

I am taking a much needed break before my next Final, so I thought I'd reflect on what has been going on with me lately.

Besides the recent blogger mishaps and me getting a new domain bigsendworld.com, a LOT has been going on in my academic life that has taken up so much time, I barely even work out.

It all started when I began looking for internships in February. As we all know, the job market is shit and many of the top engineering companies are not taking new interns. So, I had to do something. I put my application out there in as many places as I could, but I knew I had to stay local.

Update

All right,

So finals will be over in a week, but in the mean time I went ahead and bought www.bigsendworld.com! Turns out just plain old bigsend is already taken and though I am in contact with the owner, its hard to say at this point which way it will go.

Either way, I really like BigSend World, it has this colossal feel to it. Special thanks to SDH for the suggestion.

Thanks to all the people who contacted me and offered advice, very much appreciated.

Other than that, looks like simurl is back up. That is good, but I still plan to migrate out of that.

Blog Took a Trimming

As I was in the process of changing templates, blogger of course deleted every non-standard widget in the process.

What really gets to me is I used bloggers backup option to save a safe copy of my template, but that back up did not include any of the widgets. It was just a back up of the general layout.

I would have expected more from blogger/google---I mean saving a back-up should IMPLY saving every aspect of the blog in its current state. So, I am considering just buying my own little domain and hosting the blog there where I have full control. It is about time ya know.

How to Find and Live Your Mission

This article is by Alex over at Inner Game Reframe

I found it to be a great articulation of what it means to live our "mission"

________________

Many people feel overwhelmed when they get a glimpse of what they want to do with their life. The task seems daunting, the road long and hard accompanied by an uncertain destination. They can't see the top from the bottom or the light through the fog.

Outcome Independence, Neediness, and our Mindset

There are many phrases coined for this: Outcome Independence, No Fear of Loss, Wanting without Needing. I am certain everyone mentally knows what it means—"not being emotionally attached to an outcome" or "Just Be Cool" Simple, right? But what does it mean to be outcome independent?

The Law of Attraction

Almost out of the blue, I met a friend who studies interaction and dating but from an angle of affirmations and inner game. That is, my friend really emphasized using affirmations as a way to manifest what you desire in your life (not for positive thinking, but like “wishing from a genie” almost). Also by coincidence, Dante Valentine (from Rock star Casanova) mentioned he uses it actively for his ridiculous successes.

Another Great Date

So in doing my Okcupid thing, I have talked to a bunch of girls. I wrote out two posts from it, here is a third. I mentioned her, lets call her Js, in my last post and I actually had the date with her tonight. Here is how it went down:

A Mediocre Date that Did End with Sex---go figure

I'm really loving this Okcupid site, it feels so natural and fun. Even though I am not quite using Davem /online pick up mentality on it, I did make my profile DaveM-esque (with help from my buddy Ulysses from Social Fundamentals). I highly recommend those programs. Anyway on to the journal...

Surrendered My Nervousness + Opened my Heart = Best Date Ever

Somehow I got the inspiration to check out Okcupid again, a free myspace-ish dating site. I wouldn't categorize it as a Match or Singles site because there really is no pressure, no money involved, and people go on there to meet normal friends, activity partners. Their matching system finds you good friends as well as potential partners.

I used Match about a year ago and it didn't feel right. The girls felt a bit jaded so I shied away from it for a while.

So as school keeps taking over, I have less and less time to go out and socialize. I try to talk to girls on campus, but it is definitely forced. I don't naturally bump into attractive girls in my engineering classes or in the labs, ya know?

Review of Authentic Man Program's "Power of Presence"

About two months ago I signed up for Authentic Man Program's (AMP) newsletter as suggested by a friend (I believe SexualChocolate who works for MeHow at least at that time). Though, I am really into Ideagasms but I am always open to new teachers and mentors; I am definitely not closed off. Something drew me to AMP, I am not sure what it was but I usually don't pick up random products anymore. AMP, besides a few comments from friends, I sort of picked up automatically.

A New Approach --- Online Mentorship from Pro's

I recently came across this online service that offers daily dating/lifestyle mentorship via phone, text message, online, and email. It is run by pro's who have this part of their life handled, decided take on a few students at a time, and focus very keenly.

They help you through your goals. Guide you through each interaction with women, including within the relationship and sex. They also offer emotional support and help you out when you are down.

Got Approached by a Female Student of Mystery

A few nights back I was hanging out with 456 and BlazerPUA (who was my first mentor in PUA a few years back, met him through pair but he moved to New York the next year). Blazer was in town so me and 456 showed him around LA a bit.
