Brad P Presents a Genuine System, a Genuine Guru

I want to start not by expressing how the Workshop started or how great it was, but with describing how I first met Brad.

I had been attending the 2008 PUA SUMMIT, I had only been in the game for about two weeks, and got a good deal on a ticket. I read about all the speakers attending, and was already curious about Brad he was the only one with no picture.

Someone pointed him out to me when he first got there, and as I had been walking out on the lunch break I noticed him walking in front of me and another new guy attending. I approached just because I wanted to say, hello and because I’d been so curious to who he was. He said he was on his wait to get a bite to eat and said me and the other person attending should join.

No More Mr. Nice Guy - An Intense Realization

Sometimes the truth can come at you so hard you have to step back. This post is going to be very personal because I got hit in the face this week with a powerful truth. At first, it hurt, but now I feel very hopeful about living an authentic, happy life going forward.

Two Programs to Toss, One to Keep

Let me cut to the chase. I wouldn't waste time with John Alanis (www.johnalais.com) or Joseph Matthews Charm School (www.purepersonality.com), both of which are, in my opinion, vastly overpriced recycled fluff. For the money ($400+), I'd highly recommend a few coaching sessions with AMP (www.authenticsf.com), where you can work with an expert to address your PERSONAL needs.

Relationships - They're Not What They're Cracked Up to Be

I’m here to tell you that the romantic notion behind marriage and relationships is society-imposed BS. Relationships and marriages are not what they’re cracked up to be. Most people – men especially – marry for all the wrong reasons, and most men would be far happier being single. Far, far happier.

Authentic Man Program – Power of Appreciation Review

This is my long overdue review of Authentic Man Program's Power of Appreciation (AMP's POA). I think the reason it was so overdue is because it was so awesome, I rushed into trying this stuff and had great success and posted a few field reports, then I just sort of coasted, enjoyed what I learned, and moved on.

After going through POA, I had a string of one night stands and now I am in a relationship (which I need to write a post on soon). Surrendered My Nervousness + Opened my Heart = Best Date Ever is a date I had right after the POA program.

Living Well: A Lesson About Death

If one wants to mature as a man, he must keep death in mind at all times. David DeAngelo talks about this in his “On Being a Man” program, which I highly recommend. This week, I made friends with death and the lesson will change my life forever.

Getting Into State Just to Get the Girl

One of the top factors that kills a woman's attraction for a man very quickly is him feeling like he is not enough. Being enough means that you don't need anything outside of yourself to make you happy or feel good about yourself-you derive your sense of self esteem from within.

When you feel like you aren't enough you search for things to compensate for your lack of feeling naturally attractive. You buy nice cars in order to get women. You workout and get into great shape JUST to get women. You buy drinks for women JUST to get them to talk to you. And you get into state JUST to get the girl to like you.

Most guys who get involved in the "Pick Up Community" have clear goals at first.

They would like to get a girlfriend or get a hotter girlfriend. Some just want to feel comfortable in their skin when dealing with women. Maybe lose your virginity.

Universal stuff. Achievable stuff.

But somewhere those goals get left behind.

3 Ways to Filter out Bad Advice

Recently I posted an article on not giving up your power to guru's. SDH followed up with some steps on how regular friends, even AFC's, can help each other attain their goals. In my post, lots of guys commented that getting advice from regular friends is a bad idea and, from their perspective, I completely agree. It's obvious. It is almost the same analogy as the Guru, taking full advice from one source is almost always a bad idea—except Guru's at least tend to know what they are talking about. The trick is to develop a filter for good advice. It comes down to knowing yourself.

I loved BigSend's post about Guru's.

I've learned a ton from "Guru's" over the years but part of what I had to learn was to be my own "Guru" to reach MY GOALS.

I've also learned that support from friends is HUGE.

Giving Up Power to Gurus

Something rather ironic occurred to me recently. After the Ideagasms fiasco, after seeing more and more guru's as fakes—like what "The Game" did with TylerDurden. I started to objectively think and observe how Guru's really are. I started to notice the some of the more successful Pick Up Guru's are guys with amazing flash game—they can do a 15-minute song and dance, or "wing" you very well, but they talk very little about true seduction.

Quick: Featured on Better Asian Man Podcast

This isn't in any way self promotion, because I have nothing to sell, but I was invited to speak on the Better Asian Man Podcast. I'm not Asian, but it was cool.

I haven't posted any new blog entries for a while, but as a small update, I've currently been doing a 30 Day challenge, where I have to approach the girl I'm most interested in every day for 30 Days.

Just talked a bit about it on here, I'm on the second half of the segment. I'm actually tempted to post my journal of the 30 days on here, with each approach, if anyone is interested.

Here's the Link:

- Q

PS. I'm also in the Q&A section. That part helped me re-frame my mind tremendously.

What can I say, guys, I finally gave myself a chance to try “Being the Mayor” Friday afternoon, and it was awesome! For those who don’t know, “being the mayor” is an expression from Brent (www.attracthotterwomen.com). You basically act like it’s your bar and you’re holding court – go up to everybody and just start very brief, basic conversations with everybody without trying to get anything.

The 2 Approaches to Learning

Right now, I am reading this amazing and inspirational book called "The Art of Learning" by Josh Waitzkin. Now, if that name sounds familiar to you, it may because the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer" was based on him. He is the little 8 year old who won national chess championships. What most people do not know is that Josh is also a World Champion Martial Artist of Tai Chi. How often is a person a Champion Chess Player and also a Champion at Tai Chi, all before they are 25 or so?

A Crucial Ingredient, Often Overlooked

The crucial ingredient is the right group of friends to help us along. I am writing this post as a part shout-out, part vital lesson of life. More often than not, the only people who can give you accurate and useful advice are your close friends and family, or someone who has known you for awhile and has a lot of experience. But, most importantly, no great speaker, guru, or figurehead can just look at you for 2 days, much less 5 minutes, and give you the kind of advice, the kind of direction catered to just you in your life.
A Shift on the "Three Second Rule" Exercise

I’d spent the past couple days struggling with the latest exercise from Hypnotica’s “Reinventing Yourself” program. I was getting out and meeting women, using the “three second rule,” not getting anywhere close to twenty and fighting it all the way. I felt very anxious, angry, frustrated and just not myself. Last night I’m lying awake in bed thinking this is the opposite of what I want. I wanted to be a yes, and I was struggling with this exercise and being more of a no than ever.

?Field Report? "Twenty a Day"

So I’m working through the third exercise of Hypnotica’s “Reinventing Yourself” (www.hypnotica.org) and this one is a doozie. The lesson is about “decisiveness” so the exercise is to do the “three second rule,” which is where you see a woman you want to meet and approach her within three seconds. The exercise calls for me to approach twenty women a day for a week.

The 2 Types of People You Will Meet: Givers and Takers

After meeting thousands of people, we feel that people can be categorized into 2 distinct groups...

Social Value Givers and Social Value Takers

The phrases "giving value" vs. "taking value" are popular and are often used terms in the self-development community.

What's missing is the definition of what it means to really give value, and what it means to take value. What we'll cover are the hallmark differences between the two, and hopefully, you will be convinced why it is important to be a social value giver to pave the road towards your personal social success.

How to Get Good at Pick Up (or anything else)

In Zen there is a concept of "taking a seat".

It means that to make progress on your spiritual path, you have to make a commitment to a teacher or philosophy and "take a seat" with them.

Students who wander from one teacher to another or one technique to another don't get very far.

It also applies to pickup.

Once you've picked a quality Pick Up School - Speed Seduction, Mystery Method, Swingcat etc. - it's time to commit.

Learn that method inside and out.

Field test everything. Be prepared to fight through the sticking points and plateaus you encounter along the way.

Squeeze every drop of value out of that method. Try everything - even the stuff that may make you feel uncomfortable - at least once or twice.

The Self-Help Community

The self-help community has been around since our mom's nagged us to wash our face and brush our teeth every night. Or, maybe it started with religion and rituals. There is something about being given advice or being told what to do that can equally annoy us and empower us. It all depends on how we are told what to do. My guess is, our Mom's caring-worry wasn't the most effective, but perhaps Tony Robbin's passionate tale about bodily acid motivated us to take action; ironically, one idea is obvious, the other is totally out of left field.

Just Updated the Blog Host

I just wanted to make a quick update. I upgraded the blog host from Hostmonster to SimpleHelix. I felt it was going way to slow over at Hostmonster and SimpleHelix seems a lot faster.

I would describe Hostmonster as an all you can eat buffet (as SDH puts it). You get everything there, but the quality isn't the greatest. SimpleHelix is more like a 3 or 4 star restaurant---its not a dedicated server, but its rated real high and costs a bit more.

Hopefully this works out better!

In the mean time, a comment and post made by SPG got delayed in transferring over, but everything is back to normal. This was actually quite a process to go through so I thought I'd just mention it.

LATE.

A Switch Just Turned

This is just off the top of my head.

So right now, I’m currently doing this 1 of the Day challenge I previously described, but I’m doing it for real this time. I mean I wrote it down, in my lair, and I update it once everyday describing that approach or interaction to keep me on track.

Anyway, I find this girl who I’m just so madly attracted to, I have no clue what it is, she’s in one of my classes. We need to get group partners, of course I make sure she’s mine.

I would consider myself a student of Dr. Paul for the past two years however I had an interesting ride. I remember following Dr. Paul's model and seeing it as very complete, sound, and structured. For a scientific guy like myself, it was perfect.
